Nocturnes VI
Nocturnes I–VII: Voices of Silence
This work is part of the "Nocturnes" series – a sequence of seven bird studies bathed in the nocturnal light of the full moon. Each songbird rests alone on a branch, surrounded by the deep stillness of the night. The series explores the fragile moment between sound and silence and is a tribute to the quiet, often unheard voices of nature.
In terms of artistic execution, the moonlight models the birds' form and plumage, lending the scene an almost timeless, contemplative calm. While each image individually unfolds a strong presence, the series as a group develops its full visual impact – like a nocturnal record of pausing.
This painting embodies the quality of the element air and depicts the courageous upward striving to maintain perspective and inner freedom even in the deepest hours of the night.
