The Moment the Spark Ignites

This work is an examination of the archaic power of fire and the persistence of nature. Inspired by the tinder fungus, considered in Traditional European Medicine to be a preserver of embers, I capture here the moment of transformation – the interplay between destructive heat and the patient preservation of energy.

In its execution, I utilize the synergy of Aquarylic, real rust, and sediments such as stones to make the haptic contrasts palpable: the rough, unyielding shell of the mushroom and the glowing potential within it.
