The Velvet Hunter (Der samtige Jäger)

This work is dedicated to the mysterious intelligence and infinite adaptability of the octopus. As the "Velvet Hunter," it glides through a world between dimensions – a symbol of flexibility, camouflage, and the deep secrets of the ocean. It embodies the ability to constantly reinvent itself while remaining centered.

In the artistic execution, I use soft pastels on Pastelmat paper to capture the velvety texture and vibrant color depth of the seabed. The softness of the medium reflects the fluid movements of the animal and blurs the boundaries between the hunter and its habitat. A work about the elegance of camouflage and the silent power of the deep.

In traditional elemental theory, this work embodies the element of Water in its most mysterious form – as a symbol of absolute adaptability, hidden flow, and the deep wisdom of the oceans.
