This work is dedicated to the melancholic tranquility and peaceful serenity of the dugong. As the "Gentle Guardian," it glides through the undulating currents, far from the hustle and bustle – a symbol of empathy, quiet observation, and harmonious connection with nature. It embodies the ability to find inner peace and to meet the tides of life with gentle constancy and deep primal trust.

In its artistic execution with soft pastel on Pastelmat paper, the velvety surface accentuates the soft, supple forms of the body, embedded in the shimmering underwater light. This image is a particularly heartfelt matter for me. It is no coincidence that this painting is also my logo.

I love manatees.

For me, they are the epitome of love, gentleness, and family. That's why a manatee mother with her calf adorns my arm as a tattoo. Dugi was even my nickname for several years.

Whether manatees or dugongs, there is nothing I wish for more than to snorkel with them one day and experience them face to face.
