Drift: Mineral Tranquility

In a world of constant change, this work explores the moment when the psyche finds its anchor in the steadfastness of matter. It is an artistic examination of mineral tranquility – that power that arises from the density and timelessness of stone and earth.

Through working with oil paints in mixed-media layering, I capture the haptics of the unyielding. The composition plays with the heaviness and the simultaneous relief that arises when we focus on the essentials. "Drift" is not just a picture, but a fixed point for the space, inviting one to rediscover one's own inner strength.
