The Security of the Deep (Whales)

Whales are symbols of grace, gentleness, and the wisdom of the oceans. This work is dedicated to the mother-daughter duo as the epitome of love and family bond. It visualizes the unconditional trust and protection that these noble giants radiate in the vast spaces of the deep.

In the artistic execution with oil paints on a painting board, I use gentle layering to capture the majestic presence and loving closeness of these animals. Framing with a classic white passe-partout gives the scene a special depth and tranquility – a tribute to the primal power of family.

As a symbol for the element Water, this work shows the gentle giants as guardians of primal trust – a depiction of maternal security and the deep, sustaining love that connects us in the eternal flow of life.
